These three design and business publications are some of my newly found favorite sources of inspiration in design!
Design is everywhere. Some of my favorite sources of random inspiration in the past have been magazines, restaurant menus, movie posters. These sources have always given me great ways to layout and visually display information.
Recently I have been researching other online sources as I have regrettably not had been keeping up. The following publications are great some newly found favorite resources of inspiration and also great way to see how people have been innovating.
Good Design
Good Design is an organization that was created in the 1950s and is known for it's annual Good Design Awards. You can visit there website and see all kinds of submissions, from furniture to children's toys, the innovation and ingenuity is endless. They have recently began pushing a Green Good Design program which is aimed at being environmentally responsible and it's a program I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the future.
Eye Magazine
Eye Magazine has been around since 1984. It is mainly a magazine rather than an online publication, but their website still host various blog posts of interesting topics. The covers and spreads used in the magazine are attention grabbers and I would like to start referencing them for future projects.
Fast Company
Fast Company is one of my favorite sites to look at, the front page is exploding with colorful featured posts that are definitely some more unique subjects than the previous journals, especially when it comes to design, news, and business.
Behance
Behance is a site offered by Adobe that allows designer to follow other designers and artworks and create mood boards similarly to how you would use Pinterest. It is interesting form of social media, and useful to come up with ideas. I'll leave my Pinterest linked below.
